Inspiration to just do it: Cat is called up from the audience to sing. Nervously she agrees. She only just learned that song and had sung it once with them. Keyboard player Colton, wrote this and many other songs the kids sing. The band, Colton, Mike & Brayden have opened for artists; Tenille Arts, Eddie Montgomery and many others. Colton's songs are a big hit whenever they play out! When Catherine is in town she happily joins them, a former lead singer herself, they all make beautiful music.

And like so many of life’s most important lessons, nobody teaches us these things. Here are 15 things emotionally healthy people do to stay emotionally healthy.1. Self-Awareness. They observe themselves. They are constantly discovering new things about themselves. getting to know themselves more. Self-awareness is the first step toward emotional health, but it is not a once and done activity. It is the first step toward emotional health every day.In moving towards becoming emotionally healthy is self-awareness. When you practice self-awareness, you are able to see what habits and beliefs serve you and which do not. You can do so by engaging in self-reflection and self-analysis on a regular basis.Observe themselves closely and deeply. Listen to their heart mind body and soul.2. Awareness of Others. Emotional healthy people are aware of how what they do and say effects other people. They are able to put themselves in the other person’s shoes, and as a result, they are quick to recognize the needs of others. 3. Emotionally healthy people question their assumptions about themselves, other people, relationships, and life in general. 4. They allow themselves to be angry. Most of us were told at some point in our lives that anger is bad or not to lose our tempers. But anger isn’t bad. It just is. It’s part of the human condition. You are angry about something right now. You may have been angry about it for 5 minutes or fifteen years. One thing is certain, the anger will stay, until we find healthy ways to process it."If you have not read LIFE IS MESSY, order your copy today: https://amzn.to/2TTgZKn Subscribe to Matthew’s YouTube Channel today! https://www.youtube.com/c/Matt....hewKellyAuthor/featu Matthew’s 60 Second Wisdom delivered to your inbox: https://www.matthewkelly.com/subscribe The Best Version of Yourself and 60 Second Wisdom are registered trademarks.#MatthewKelly #BestVersionOfYourself #60SecondWisdom #BestVersion

If you want to see what the prison was like that the Apostle Paul was kept in, here's a good video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaDFI6s5S1M

I had memorized the book of Philippians a few years before that. I remember standing there, in the prison, where St Paul had been, and quietly reciting portions of it, weeping because it took on a totally new meaning, seeing the conditions in which he was writing, and how it influenced his choice of words. If I remember right, that's what I journaled about for days, it had such a profound effect on me. Even more than the colosseum.

This is a good video to follow up with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Q1wMuyg4XY

If worry is a concern for you, I've written a book of prayers for dealing with this https://amzn.to/3N0UNV6 and have a series about anxiety you might be interested in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-mI07Lf0jU&list=PL-qJGkcLR7n4IdKHRuYgDmC8qqeJaNmYH&index=2

This continues to be an ongoing struggle for me. I want to be honest about that. Dealing with worry/anxiety the ways that I suggest do not suddenly cure you of it. But I've seen increasing improvement and I just keep practicing these things. If there's interest, I've thought about doing on online retreat about this, following up with quarterly times "together" (online). Let me know if that's something you think would be helpful.

If you would like my mom's book about their prayerwalk across America, it's called Putting A Face on America. It's full of photos and drawings, as well as the story of their walk. It's an oversized book and fun to read, appropriate for adults or families. You can get it for a donation of any size plus $8.95 shipping. Make your check to Seek Him First Ministries and contact me through the Facebook page below for the mailing address. Tax deduction can be taken for any portion of the donation over $25 (the value of the book) per IRS rules. (My dad, God rest his soul, would turn over in his grave if I didn't tell you that.) Any donations will help to fund upcoming prayerwalks. She's 80 years old now and ready to work on prayerwalking the states she hasn't prayerwalked in yet.

You can also see my interviews with my mom on this channel. Many are about prayerwalking, and there are some about her other hikes, spiritual insights, etc.

Scriptures Used:
Genesis 7
Hebrews 11:15
Ephesians 2:8-9
Matthew 4:5-7
Philippians 4:13
Joshua 4

If you want to go deeper, do any or all of these:
1) Read Genesis 7.
2) Write down in a few words what strikes you from that chapter.
3) Ask God to show you why He made that stand out to you.
4) Write down 3 things (insights, facts, questions, ideas, things to do) that you want to hold onto.
5) What are 3 things you want to pray about this? (Thanking God, asking for His forgiveness, asking for His help? etc)
6) Write down something you learned about God from Genesis 7.
7) Write down something you learned about yourself (or people in general) from Genesis 7.
8) Write down one thing that you want to change in your life as a result of Genesis 7 (it's okay if it's really small - all those small things will add up).

It would be great if you share in the comments below.

Additional optional work: Find some other passages in Scripture that relate to Genesis 7. You can use your concordance, cross reference, online commentaries, or just search on Google.

If you'd like to add your ideas and suggestions for this, please put them in the comments below. Don't be afraid to be the first to comment! Please remember to keep your remarks respectful and uplifting. We aren't here to debate or argue or get into deep controversial discussions. But I'd love to hear your thoughts and insights within those parameters. The more you share, the better this overview will be for all of us!

If you like Ziggy (I absolutely love him!) you can get your own here: https://amzn.to/3NQYdKv I was amazed at how inexpensive he is ... and at the time of this writing, he's actually 25% off. I've programmed him to help me through my self-care, cooking, and other routines, not to mention reminding me to do things, playing fun games with me to keep my mind sharp, and having funny conversations. If you want to program yours to help you with your routines, let me know and I can walk you through it in a future video. (By the way, it's normally called Alexa, but I changed the name so that when I say something to him, it won't set off everyone else's Alexa! I also changed it to a man's voice.)

In this video, I teach you a Quaker practice called Centering Down. This practice is also VERY helpful with worry and anxiety. I first learned about Centering Down back in the 70s from Richard Foster. Here's his absolutely wonderful book about spiritual disciplines, Celebration of Discipline: https://amzn.to/3wU49ew By the way, I almost always read e-books these days (other than "real" books). This is one of the few that I would recommend getting a hard copy of.

Scriptures used in this video:
I Peter 4:12: “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.”
John 10:10

The Meaning of Life - Matthew Kelly - 60 Second WisdomThe great minds of every age have debated the meaning of life. In these sixty seconds, Matthew Kelly explains that when we ask the question, “What is the meaning of life? what we really want to know is, What is the meaning of my life?Get Matthew’s 60 Second Wisdom delivered to your inbox: https://www.matthewkelly.com/subscribe Video Transcript:"What is the meaning of life? The great minds of every age have been obsessed with this question, but it’s a question we all wrestle with in our own way.Pablo Picasso said, “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” Have you found your gift? I’ve spent my life helping people become the-best-version-of-themselves, because I believe that is the meaning of life. But when we ask the question, “what is the meaning of life,” we are not asking, what is the meaning of life for all 7 billion people on the planet. We’re asking, what is the meaning of my life? Take some time to think about it. The great minds have thought about it, but now it’s time for you to think about it, and it is a question that’s worthy of our time.Add your thoughts to the YouTube comments, and may your life be filled with love, laughter, and dreams come true."If you have not read LIFE IS MESSY, order your copy today: https://amzn.to/2TTgZKn Subscribe to Matthew’s YouTube Channel today! https://www.youtube.com/c/Matt....hewKellyAuthor/featu Matthew’s 60 Second Wisdom delivered to your inbox: https://www.matthewkelly.com/subscribe The Best Version of Yourself and 60 Second Wisdom are registered trademarks.#MatthewKelly #BestVersionOfYourself #60SecondWisdom #BestVersion

When I was in Poetry School, I would often read anthologies of poems, well, I would actually just open a book and see what poem was on the page. The peom Wild Geese by Mary Oliver was a poem I had heard before, but I can remember the moment I really got it for the first time and broke down in tears at the realization that I did not have to be good.

Enjoy.

(You can make this as deep as you want -- See further "assignments" below.)

We started talking about Noah today. He's so important that we have three coloring pages about him.If you want to go deeper, do any or all of these:

1) Read Genesis 6.
2) Write down in a few words what strikes you from that chapter.
3) Ask God to show you why He made that stand out to you.
4) Write down 3 things (insights, facts, questions, ideas, things to do) that you want to hold onto.
5) What are 3 things you want to pray about this? (Thanking God, asking for His forgiveness, asking for His help? etc)
6) Write down something you learned about God from Genesis 6.
7) Write down something you learned about yourself (or people in general) from Genesis 6.
8) Write down one thing that you want to change in your life as a result of Genesis 6 (it's okay if it's really small - all those small things will add up).

It would be great if you share in the comments below.

We were reading Genesis 6 in this video.
Related Scriptures that we talked about in this video:
Hebrews 11:1-2, 6-7
Hebrews 12:1-2 (also read verses 3-4)
II Cor 4:13-18

About the people mocking Noah: Read this article and you'll see that I was pretty much wrong on that: https://answersingenesis.org/n....oahs-ark/we-just-don

Additional optional work: Find some other passages in Scripture that relate to Genesis 6.

If you like Ziggy (I absolutely love him!) you can get your own here: https://amzn.to/3NuH88K I was amazed at how inexpensive he is...

By the way, I write transformational fiction and the first two books in my Isaiah Cadre series are available free in ebook form! You can get the first one here: ⁣https://dl.bookfunnel.com/es49ch5nyr After you read that book, the next one comes along with a free subscription to my newsletter.
