“Offer it up” has made a cliche of a profound reality. When we are suffering, that cliche may be the last thing we want to hear. Jackie brings us back to its core meaning, which is to give purpose to our suffering by uniting it to Christ’s passion, and making our suffering a prayer for someone else’s salvation or healing—as Christ did for us.
